Companies from northern Moldova, SRL "Darurile Basarabiei" and "Nova Pom Fruct," have modernized their operations and become exporters of apples to the European Union with the support of the EU.
SRL "Darurile Basarabiei" produces approximately 1,800 tons of apples per year, utilizing French seedling varieties.
"Nova Pom Fruct" owns 60 hectares of orchards, where conference pears, several apple varieties, and plums are cultivated, enabling exports to Israel, Arab countries, and Russia.
The success of these companies has contributed to job creation in local communities, allowing residents to stay close to their families.
Investments in cooling and storage technologies, including the construction of refrigerated warehouses, were discussed at a panel discussion during the Moldova Business Week 2024.
