As the 2024/2025 Peruvian blueberry campaign unfolds, it aligns closely with industry projections, albeit trailing behind the previous season's figures. By week 37, a total of 44.926 tons of blueberries have been dispatched to various markets, marking a 7% decrease from the 2023/2024 season but showing a 1% increase over recent forecasts.
Of the total shipments, 42.296 tons were of conventional blueberries, down 1% from last season but up 2% against projections. Organic blueberry shipments stood at 2.629 tons, a 52% decrease from the previous year and 14% below expectations.
During week 37, shipments reached 9.274 tons, 30% more than in the same period of the 2023/2024 campaign, albeit 2% lower than the last projection. Leading the volume of shipments is Camposol with 6.550 tons, followed by Agrovisión Perú SAC and other key producers, collectively contributing to the majority of the total shipments.
The United States remains the primary destination for Peruvian blueberries, receiving 22.707 tons and securing a 51% market share. Other significant markets include China, Europe, the United Kingdom, and new destinations, each reflecting varying trends in shipment volumes compared to the previous season.
Regionally, La Libertad leads in blueberry exports, though it experienced an 11% decline from the 2023/2024 season. Lambayeque saw a notable increase, while other areas like Ancash, Ica, Lima, Piura, Moquegua, and Arequipa showed mixed results in their export volumes.
