According to figures from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), more than 6.4 million freight trucks circulate on EU roads (7.2 million, if trucks over 3.5 t from the United Kingdom are also taken into account) moving millions of tons of goods that require complex management. Looking at fruit and vegetables alone, Spain exported a total of 11.3 million tons in 2023, and these are perishable products, so any incident involving longer transit times represents an added difficulty.
"It was, in fact, my experience as a fruit and vegetable exporter from Almeria that led me to create an application to speed up communication between logistics companies and their customers, and to make it easier for exporters to find out where their goods are at any given time," says Juanjo Barrionuevo.
