Fruits & Compagnie's station, situated north of Sisteron in southeastern France, was completely shut down for 4 months in the first half of 2024. "All the grading and packaging facilities were dismantled and replaced by a new MAF installation adapted to the changes planned for the next ten years," explains CĂ©line Berteloot of Fruits & Compagnie.

"This site consists of a double grading line, equipped with Globalscan optical sorting technology, as well as the IDD internal quality sorting technology developed by MAF, which is particularly useful for pears. These two lines are capped by a set of different outputs (pallets, crates, conveyors, bagging machines), which can be used by either of the lines, with a single palletizing workshop at the output.
Each grading line can be used for both pears and Golden apples, which is Fruits & Compagnie's second area of development in the Alps. "This new facility will enable us to pack up to 10,000 tons of pears, which is our target for 2030 with the strong development of the Fred and Qtee varieties, while increasing our current Golden packaging capacity."
With the introduction of IDD4 technology for visualizing internal quality, Fruits & Compagnie has begun an in-depth study with CTIFL on the correlation between cultivation parameters and internal fruit quality. "The ultimate aim is to provide the best possible taste experience to consumers."
Fruits & Compagnie will be present at Fruit Attraction (Hall 6, Booth 6C05D).
