Just like last season, Navelina oranges are the most sought after crop by retailers on the Naranjasyfrutas.com advertising platform at this time of the year.
This platform's goal is to make search trends from retailers for available crops available for the sector. "We have made a small summary of the 14 most searched varieties from August 1 to September 27, 2024. The most popular varieties are, in order: Navelina, Clemenules, Arrufatina, Clemenrubí, Okitsu, Oronules, Rojo Brillante, Orogros, Hass, Fino, Lane Late, Marisol, Clemenvilla and Orogrande," says Juan José Bas, Manager of Naranjasyfrutas.com.
"Orange varieties account for 19.16%, while mandarins represent almost 48% of the searches. Among the most searched varieties in this period, between late summer and early fall, there are Rojo Brillante kakis, with 5.12% of the searches by retailers on the platform, Hass avocados, with 3.91%, and Fino lemons, with 2.76% of queries."
"The aim of the report produced by Naranjasyfrutas.com is to share search trends with the sector at the beginning of the season, when thousands of crops are published free of charge and many businesses are looking for available crops, as we believe that this data could be of interest to the sector," says Juan José Bas.
"It is worth mentioning that in August and September, lists have started to be sent out together with the contact details of the growers of varieties such as Okitsu, Clemenrubi, Arrufatina, Iwasaki, Owari, Marisol, Oronules, Clemenules, Clemenvilla, Orogrande, Navelina, Salustiana and Rojo Brillante (kaki), among others. These lists are sent free of charge to registered businesses that have expressed interest in those varieties," says the platform.
New service
This season, a new service has been added to the platform: Professional Trade, designed for professionals who buy crops and need to be able to search for them without restrictions and receive weekly listings of the latest ones published. This service can be contracted directly through the website or by contacting [email protected] directly.
"More and more businesses are looking for available crops on naranjasyfrutas.com and the number of growers advertising their crops together with their contact details is also increasing year after year," says Bas.
