Agrolulo Group: "We produce okra, garden egg and diakatou in Honduras, and also in Almeria"

"Tired of receiving the residual price of the sale of our products, we created a new working system"

Tired of receiving a residual price for their products, a group of producers from Almeria and other countries joined forces to create Grupo Agrolulo. Their main goal was to unite, coordinate and train different producers, working in partnership with clients, and developing new products and new business lines.

"Customers tell us about their needs in terms of production, varieties, volume, etc., and we take care of the production in line with their demands and schedules. In turn, the client makes a commitment to sell 100% of the production and pay the grower the agreed price, together with a deposit as a guarantee," explains the company. "In this way, the client and the producer will have full assurance that everything will go as agreed at the beginning of each program, with a product of the highest quality."

Currently, the group is made up of Grupo Agrolulo, from Almeria, Spain; San Esteban Farm's, from Honduras, and Fenixfood, from Malaga, Spain, "although we hope to be adding new countries and producers in Brazil and Mexico."

"We are focused on promoting the development of producers in different countries, to connect the production directly to the client, although we are not only in charge of sales. We also help producers in the implementation of new working systems, new seed developments, more sustainable and organic fertilizer systems, certifications, the development of ozone technology and cold systems, etc."

"At Grupo Agrolulo, we work mainly with exotic crops. Okra stands out, with 6,000 tons produced in Honduras and Spain that are mainly intended for Europe and the U.S. We also produce garden egg and diakatou, which are sown in Almeria under client programs, and exported to France and the rest of Europe."

"We are currently starting to grow sweet potato, ginger, and chili and Habanero peppers in Honduras, and we also hope to obtain various quality and organic certifications in the near future."

"Moreover, we have already carried out the first trials with other products from Brazil and Mexico, such as green coconut, Kent mango and Palmer mango, and we are looking into importing other products, such as avocado, papaya and sweet potato (white, purple skin, white flesh, orange and purple). Therefore, we hope that our supplier and friend will join Grupo Agrolulo very soon."

"On the other hand, the company Fenixfood S.L., which has extensive experience in the production sector and, above all, is a specialist in certifications, organic regulations, new quality control technologies and relations with large distribution chains, is in charge of the development of producers in Honduras, Brazil and Mexico, and of the marketing of part of the production from Almeria."

"Grupo Agrolulo has a clear work philosophy; nobody pays anything to join, we only require our growers to let themselves be guided by our more than 40 years of experience in fruit and vegetable production and marketing, gained together with distributors, retailers and large distribution chains; and not just in the conventional sector. We also have certified organic growers and this is precisely the direction in which Grupo Agrolulo Group is heading."

Grupo Agrolulo, Fenixfood and San Esteban Farm's will be present in Madrid, at stand 8E18.
