The major Ukrainian agricultural company, LLC "PEK" (Mykolaiv region), is expanding its range of fruit and vegetable crops for the 2025 season. One of its farms has already started planting winter garlic, allocating 29 hectares for the crop, according to a post on the company's Facebook page.
"We haven't finished harvesting the 2024 vegetables, but it's already time to prepare for 2025. For the first time, we're planting winter garlic. We've purchased the seeds and are starting planting. Exploring new crops is always exciting," said the company owner, Yuriy Kormyshkin.
Additionally, the company is storing onions in vegetable warehouses. A new line has been working for two weeks, loading onions into containers, each holding one ton. This automation has significantly increased the speed of harvesting, processing, and sorting onions, enabling efficient removal of damaged produce.
A short video showcasing the packaging and calibration process has been posted on the company's Facebook page, highlighting how the automated line prepares onions for the market.
"Without automation, timely processing and preparation for shipment would have been extremely difficult, especially with this year's volumes," Kormyshkin added.
