T. Karbanovich, deputy director of crop production of Belarus, presented data on the country's agricultural storage capacity. Belarus has specialized storage facilities capable of holding over 1 million tons of produce, including:
- Potato storage — 719,700 tons
- Vegetable storage — 180,900 tons
- Fruit storage — 104,900 tons
According to Tatyana Karbanovich, these facilities are equipped for pre-sale preparation, ensuring product quality.
To provide suitable storage conditions for the harvest, the state program "Agricultural Business" for 2021-2025 includes plans for building modern storage facilities.
Karbanovich also discussed the practice of licensing the export of certain goods, which has been in place in Belarus for two years. This measure is not a ban on exports but is intended to monitor product availability and prevent shortages in the domestic market. For example, licensing was introduced for apples, onions, carrots, and beets to ensure market stability.
