Peru's blueberry exports surge 41.5% to $545.94 million in first eight months of 2024

From January to August 2024, Peru's blueberry exports reached US$545.94 million, marking a 41.5% increase from the previous year's US$385.75 million, as reported by the Association of Exporters (Adex). The United States remained the top importer, accounting for a 60% share with US$326 million in shipments, up 74.2% from 2023. Other key markets included the Netherlands, Hong Kong, China, and the United Kingdom, alongside Brazil, Thailand, Taiwan, Spain, and Colombia.

Leading exporters in this sector were companies such as Camposol, Hortifruit Peru, Agrovision Peru, among others. The region of La Libertad was the primary source of these shipments, contributing 60% of the total exports, followed by Lambayeque, Ica, and others. In a broader perspective, the 2023 annual report showed a 26.7% increase in blueberry exports, totaling US$1.671 billion, with the USA, the Netherlands, and China being the top destinations.
