Go-ahead for the new organic sweet potato harvest:

Reichenau eG expects good yields and quality despite unstable weather conditions

Reichenau eG's new organic sweet potato harvest is now officially underway: organic sweet potatoes are currently being harvested on the island of Reichenau or in neighbouring Bodanrück using state-of-the-art harvesting technology. The organic sweet potatoes, a bindweed by the way, are grown on over one hundred and twenty hectares.

Despite rather unstable weather conditions during the growing phase, Reichenau-Gemüse is once again expecting a good harvest and excellent quality. With around 3,000 tonnes of sweet potatoes, over 60% of German sweet potatoes are produced in the Lake Constance region and marketed via the cooperative, Reichenau-Gemüse.

Organic sweet potato producer Benjamin Wagner.

Thanks to state-of-the-art storage technology, the producer has now succeeded in storing and marketing this trendy product for a period of 12 months, i.e. until the next harvest next year. The sweet potatoes from Lake Constance are offered to a wide range of customers throughout Germany and are particularly versatile in their use.
