Launching kids' packaging for apples with sustainable message

At this year's IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show, Superfresh Growers will unveil more than just a new booth design. It is excited to launch a new brand with variety-specific packaging, complete with a cast of fun animal friends living in an apple orchard. These pouch bags are made from 100 percent LDPE, making them recyclable at store drop-off locations and anywhere that accepts film recycling.

On a mission to make organic apples more appealing to children, the company's team realized that the precious resources in and around its orchards and fields – animals, pollinators, trees, plants, and clean air and water – could be woven into fun and meaningful stories. Stories about nature and sustainability also resonate with parents–thus, the Orchard Buddies were born.

These pouch bags are made from 100 percent LDPE, making them recyclable at store drop-off locations and anywhere that accepts film recycling.

The Orchard Buddies are a group of furry (and feathered) friends committed to sustaining their orchard home. They collaborate with bees and ladybugs to implement integrated pest management (IPM) practices and ensure native flowers thrive. The goal of this brand is to educate consumers about sustainable farming while encouraging kids to eat more apples.

Show attendees are invited to visit Superfresh Growers' booth (#B3481) at the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show can learn all about the Orchard Buddies' adventures. The booth will feature a children's book titled The Orchard Buddies Save the Bees, along with the new packaging on display. Attendees can also sample Autumn Glory and Cosmic Crisp apples at the booth.
