A municipal logistics centre has been inaugurated in Kadamjay, located in the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan. According to the district administration, 18.74 million soms (approximately $219,181) were allocated for its construction, funded by resources aimed at regional development in Batken.
The logistics centre, with a capacity to store up to 500 tons of agricultural products such as apples, apricots, peaches, and raspberries, is expected to boost local export opportunities. Authorities believe the centre will facilitate the export of produce to various markets, including neighbouring countries.
Kadamjay district produces about 30,000 tons of fruits annually, along with 2,300 tons of raspberries and 340 tons of strawberries. Across the Batken region, apricot orchards cover approximately 8,000 hectares, with the "Ak Oruk" (White Apricot) variety, known for its early ripening, being a key product for export.
Cherry orchards, covering 1,556 hectares in the Batken region—80% of which are in Kadamjay—also contribute to the local economy. Raspberry cultivation spans over 200 hectares, producing 1,500 tons annually. According to Aidarali Asamidinov, head of the district's agricultural development office, the possibility of expanding raspberry plantations and establishing processing facilities is under discussion.
