Tien Giang province initiates first fresh coconut exports to China

On October 24, Tien Giang province witnessed the inaugural shipment of fresh coconuts to China, a collaborative effort between the Department of Industry and Trade of Tien Giang and Fado iExport Joint Stock Company. The event took place at Hung Thinh Phat Cooperative, Cho Gao district. Mr. Pham Van Trong, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee, highlighted the significance of this milestone for the agricultural sector and its role in elevating the status of Vietnamese agricultural produce on the global stage. He attributed the achievement to the enduring negotiations between Vietnamese and Chinese authorities, alongside the support from local coconut farmers and exporters. Tien Giang, a leading coconut producer in the Mekong Delta with over 21,650 hectares devoted to coconut cultivation, aims to further enhance its coconut industry through policy support and the replication of successful models. This initiative is expected to boost farmer incomes and expand the list of Vietnamese agricultural exports to China, which already includes a variety of fruits and other products.
