Limpopo's Zebediela citrus estate receives $170 080 boost for revitalization

The Department of Agriculture in Limpopo has earmarked over $17 0079 for the revitalization of the Zebediela Citrus Estate, a 3000-hectare farm previously plagued by financial mismanagement and internal disputes within the Bjatladi Communal Property Association. The estate returned to the association in 2003 and has seen more than $28 346 460 from government efforts aimed at rejuvenation.

Department spokesperson Pelane Phakgadi highlighted the intention to diversify the farm's operations. "The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has set aside $170 079 to look into the affairs of the CPA of the Zebediela citrus. The engagements are there, currently at a high level to find out those programs that we can be able to deal with so that we can argue the current programs that are happening at the citrus farm to ensure it is revitalized," Phakgadi stated.
