Swegreen announces three of its key clients, Fotografiska Stockholm, ICA Focus Göteborg, and ICA Maxi Stenhagen Uppsala, have extended their agreements with them. These partnerships will last from three to five years, with a total contract value of 12 million SEK (~€1 million).
"Through these long-term agreements, our business model is confirmed, and it's a testament to the value our clients see in offering high-quality, hyper-locally grown produce to their consumers. Each year, our partners will be able to offer 35 tons of fresh produce directly on-site, with zero transport. This provides a significant environmental benefit while simultaneously enhancing their offering to end consumers – making a difference for both the climate and the customer experience," commented the Swegreen team.
The partnerships
Fotografiska Stockholm extended their partnership with three years. Fotografiska has been a long-term client and is Swegreen's first restaurant partner. Since September 2021, Swegreen has been delivering leafy greens, herbs, and spices directly to their restaurant, where they are used to creating unique and flavorful dishes. The cultivation at Fotografiska is also more manual than at other facilities, allowing room for innovation.
"Here, we grow everything from classic leafy greens to more unusual crops like kale, chili, and edible flowers, providing the chefs with new opportunities to develop their offerings. The three-year extension confirms that our solution contributes to their sustainability goals and provides a powerful experience for their visitors," the Swegreen team shares.
ICA Focus Göteborg extended their partnership with five years. ICA Focus in Gothenburg was Swegreen's first major unit and has been an important part of the company's journey since the collaboration began in July 2020. The largest facility model, Freja, is based there and has produced over 400,000 plants for consumers in the Gothenburg area.
The team adds, "The extension of the agreement for an additional five years is a signal of ICA Focus's confidence in Swegreen and our long-term capacity to deliver a stable, high-quality production solution. ICA Focus has become a significant player in hyper-local cultivation, and we are proud to continue this journey together."
ICA Maxi Stenhagen Uppsala extended their partnership with three years. As part of the expansion, ICA Maxi Stenhagen in Uppsala has been a central partner. "Through this long-term partnership, we can continue to provide fresh produce directly to consumers in Uppsala, which is a key part of ICA's strategy to reduce transport emissions and provide locally produced food," Swegreen adds.
