The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) disclosed that Iran's apple exports amounted to $124 million during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 20-October 21). This period also saw a 28 percent increase in the value of Iran's agricultural product exports compared to the same timeframe last year. The report further detailed that, within these seven months, Iran exported 3.8 million tons of agricultural products, valued at $2.2 billion, marking a 16 percent rise in weight year on year.
Earlier data from the IRICA highlighted that, in the first half of the current Iranian year, about 3.2 million tons of agricultural products were exported, generating $1.7 billion and reflecting a 26 percent increase in value year on year. The export volume also saw a 20 percent rise. Ruhollah Latifi, the spokesman of the International Relations and Trade Development Committee of Iran's House of Industry, Mining, and Trade, noted a 22.5 percent increase in the export value of agricultural and foodstuff products in the previous Iranian year, totaling approximately $6.3 billion. Agro-food products constituted 12.8 percent of Iran's total non-oil exports last year, with Iraq, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Russia being the top importers of these products from Iran.
