Egypt's agricultural exports jump 32 percent to $4.1 billion

Egypt's Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation reported a 32% increase in agricultural exports, reaching $4.1 billion during the first ten months of 2024. The exports, totaling over 7.1 million tons, were led by citrus fruits at 2.2 million tons and followed by potatoes at 0.9 million tons. In alignment with national agricultural projects, including the New Delta project targeting over 4 million acres, Egypt is on track to export 10 million tons of fresh produce. Additionally, a new shipping service has been launched to connect the port of Dekheila in Alexandria with Novorossiysk and St. Petersburg in Russia, operated by Global Logistics for Fox Shipping. This service, offering two trips weekly, aims to expedite the delivery of agricultural goods to the Russian market, supported by a specialized team to ease shipping processes. This initiative is part of Egypt's strategy to enhance its agricultural exports and solidify its role as a regional hub for trade.
