U.S. apple storage down seven percent compared to November 2023

According to a monthly survey, the total number of apples in storage on November 1, 2024, was 177 million bushels, seven percent less than last November's total of 191 million bushels and six percent more than the five-year average for that date.

Fresh apple holdings this November totaled 130 million bushels, seven percent less than the inventories reported for last November. Processing holdings totaled 46 million bushels, nine percent less than last year on November 1.

This report captures more than 95 percent of the national storage capacity.
