Hot spring inn offers 'apple bath' in northern Japan

In Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, a hot spring inn has introduced an "apple bath" to promote the region's apple production. The bath is filled with 160 locally grown apples, allowing guests to enjoy the soothing aroma and warmth of the fruit-infused water. Bathers have reported that the apple scent enhances relaxation and provides a comforting experience. The inn plans to offer this unique bathing experience on Sundays and national holidays in December and January, as well as during the first three days of the New Year.

Yokote is renowned as the largest apple producer in Akita Prefecture, cultivating varieties such as Fuji and Chiaki. The region's fertile soil and favorable climate contribute to the high quality of its apples.

This initiative not only provides a unique relaxation experience but also highlights Yokote's rich apple cultivation heritage.
