Kadalys introduced its skincare brand around ten years ago, showcasing its patented banana bioactive. In 2024, the brand appeared as an ingredient supplier at in-cosmetics Asia in Bangkok from November 5 to 7.
Shirley Billot, Kadalys president and CEO, expressed to CosmeticsDesign-Asia that the company is ready for its next development phase. Billot highlighted the growing acceptance and understanding of natural ingredients' efficacy in recent years. She anticipates Asia will be a crucial market, noting the region's deep appreciation for traditional ingredients and remedies. Billot pointed out, "The Asian culture highlights a lot of natural ingredients...If someone can give them the data to prove that a traditional ingredient is good, more concentrated, and more efficient, I think they will welcome it."
A key ingredient from Kadalys is derived from the pink banana (Musa acuminata) from Martinique, known for its potent anti-pigmentation properties, which are three times stronger than Vitamin C15. This aligns with the preferences of the Asian market, where brightening skin care products are highly sought after. The company is particularly interested in the Chinese market, recognizing its potential and the positive perception of bananas in China.
Kadalys has dedicated over a decade to researching bananas, examining the aqueous and lipid molecules across different maturity stages and species. The company is now leveraging artificial intelligence to analyze its extensive data on bananas. A major focus is exploring compounds through various extraction methods, such as ultrasound and microwave extraction, to optimize molecule extraction for better results.
