Last Friday and Saturday, Burg Machinefabriek celebrated its 70th anniversary by offering a behind-the-scenes look at its machine factory. The event drew a large crowd, with approximately 250 guests—primarily from the Netherlands and Belgium—attending on Friday. On Saturday, the company welcomed not only business relations but also family, friends, and acquaintances of the Burg team, with an impressive turnout of 800 people in Kruiningen.
"Although our invitation was not specifically aimed at international customers, we were delighted to see dealers from the US, Switzerland, Spain, the UK, Denmark, and Poland, among others, join us. It was fantastic that they were willing to contribute to this special occasion," said Arjan.
Visitors were guided through the production process, showcasing the full range of machines, including packaging machines, case packers, and water treatment systems. The latest technological advancements were also on display, such as laser cutting and innovative box-handling solutions. While top fruit remains Burg's largest sector, the company has expanded its reach, serving a diverse array of clients across the entire fresh produce industry.

The event also highlighted the rich 70-year history of this family business, now in its third generation. A special anniversary wall illustrated the company's evolution from a supplier of orchard machinery to a comprehensive provider of sorting and packing solutions for the fresh produce industry. The open house not only celebrated past achievements but also emphasized Burg Machinefabriek's commitment to innovation and its ongoing role in supporting customers worldwide.
