The Customs Subcommittee of the Russian Federation's government is considering introducing import duty exemptions for a range of vegetables, according to a statement from the Ministry of Economic Development.
"The issue of introducing exemptions for the import of potatoes, onions, carrots, cabbage, and apples is being considered," the department's report on the current price situation notes.
This decision is linked to the increase in prices for fruit and vegetable products due to a limited supply.
According to Rosstat, the prices for fruit and vegetable products from November 12 to November 18 have increased, including:
- cucumbers, which became more expensive by 11.3%,
- tomatoes - by 6.0%,
- cabbage - by 4.7%,
- onions - by 4.4%,
- potatoes - by 3.8%,
- beets - by 1.6%,
- carrots - by 1.3%,
- bananas - by 1.2%,
- apples - by 1.0%.
