Pomegranate export price drop and apple export rise in Azerbaijan in 2024

From January to October 2024, Azerbaijan exported 18,606 tons of pomegranates, generating $16,400,000 in revenue according to ABC.AZ, citing the State Customs Committee data. This marks a 5.8% increase in volume over the same period last year when 17,578 tons were exported. However, the value of these exports saw a 19.2% decline from the previous year's $20,301,000.

The average price per kilogram of Azerbaijani pomegranates also fell to $0.88, down from $1.15 in the first ten months of 2023.

Additionally, Azerbaijan exported 66,874 tons of apples from January to September 2024, bringing in $42,637,000. This represents a 2.2% increase in volume and a 3.6% increase in value compared to the same period in 2023 when 65,419 tons of apples were exported for $41,170,000.

The average export price for apples saw a slight increase to $1.06 per kilogram, up from $1.0 in 2023.
