Summerfruit NZ has initiated a promotional campaign to deliver the essence of summer through cherries, nectarines, peaches, apricots, and plums to New Zealanders who may not have the opportunity to visit holiday destinations during the Christmas season. Dean Smith, the Chief Executive of Summerfruit NZ, expressed the organization's aim to provide a taste of summer to those tied up with work or family commitments during the festive period. The campaign, developed in collaboration with FizzyPop, a Hawke's Bay-based advertising agency, aims to reach a wide audience through a series of five 15-second advertisements. These ads are designed to showcase how summerfruit allows everyone to enjoy the essence of summer, irrespective of their location, and will be disseminated across TVNZ, YouTube, and various social media platforms.
The promotional effort underscores the significance of summerfruit as not only a delicious treat but also as a symbol of the Kiwi summer spirit. Tom Young, Director of FizzyPop, highlighted the sensory impact of consuming fresh summerfruit, likening it to experiencing a slice of summer bliss, even for those who are working through the holiday season. The campaign seeks to capture the hard work of growers and the vibrant, juicy quality of the fruit, with production support from the agency Indelible, aiming for visually stunning representations of the fruit.
Summerfruit NZ, representing over 240 growers of apricots, cherries, nectarines, peaches, and plums, emphasizes that the season for these fruits extends into February, providing consumers with ample opportunity to enjoy them in various culinary forms. The ongoing campaign highlights the availability of fresh, New Zealand-grown summerfruit in stores now, promising great value and taste.
