From field to fork in 3-4 days

Bollo Natural Fruit, the first company to market "melons by plane"

Bollo Natural Fruit is the first company to market "melons by plane" this December. The company is introducing its exclusive Bollo Bodega Melon, the benchmark for top-of-the-range melons and the most premium melon in its portfolio. The melon is harvested just 3-4 days before consumption, at the peak of its taste and quality.

The Bollo Bodega Melon is grown on the company's farms in Brazil, where Bollo has been active since 2005, following the same strict quality standards as the products grown in Spain. It is then transported by plane to Spain to ensure that consumers receive it at its optimum point of ripeness.

Shipping the product by air allows the company to offer consumers a freshly cut product, which impacts its organoleptic properties. It is another step in the pursuit of excellence that has always characterized the Bollo brand and with which it consolidates its leadership in the sector.

"The plane allows us to leave the melon to ripen in our fields until it reaches the highest quality in terms of flavor, texture, and smell," stated Antonio Alarcón, CEO of Bollo Natural Fruit. "It's a complex process. It starts with carefully selecting the best varieties that meet this category's requirements and meticulously controlling the entire cultivation process. Our team then selects each melon by hand directly in the field. It's the only way to achieve the perfection that we strive for with our Bollo Bodega Melon."

"We are excited to be the first to offer melon by plane. We're sure that this is an important and successful step. The positive response from greengrocers and retailers exceeds our expectations," Alarcón stated.
