Kyrgyzstan quadruples vegetable imports from China in 2024

Kyrgyzstan has increased its vegetable imports from China fourfold in the period from January to November 2024, according to data from China's General Administration of Customs.

Since the beginning of the year, vegetables worth $78.4 million have been imported from China, which is $60 million more than in the same period last year. The physical volume of vegetable shipments rose 4.2 times, reaching 73,400 tons.

In 2024, Kyrgyzstan imported around 50 types of vegetables from China. The largest share consisted of peppers, fresh tomatoes, garlic, cucumbers and gherkins, broccoli, celery, pumpkins, eggplants, and spinach.

Additionally, Kyrgyzstan increased its imports of fruits and nuts from China by 70.5% this year, totaling $500 million since January.
