Egremont Russet apples see 7% price rise, spring greens up 6% this week

The most notable changes in this week's average prices compared to the previous week are seen in some fruit and vegetable categories. Among fruits, Egremont Russet apples showed a significant increase of £0.10 per kilogram, rising from £1.35 to £1.45, reflecting a 7% weekly change. Gala apples experienced a slight price increase of £0.03, decreasing from £1.17 to £1.20, with a percentage change of 3%. Braeburn apples also saw a moderate increase, with prices rising by £0.05 per kilogram (4%), reaching £1.20 compared to last week's £1.15.

On the vegetable front, the price of spring greens (pre-packed) rose by £0.09, climbing from £1.40 to £1.49, marking a 6% weekly change. Little Gem Lettuce also showed a dec, dropping by £0.03 from £0.89 to £0.86, reflecting a 5% price hike. However, Brussels sprouts saw a slight decline, dropping by £0.05 to an average price of £1.13 per kilogram, indicating a 5% reduction compared to last week's figures.
