Over the past few months, Scherpenhuizen, Eindhoven, and Agrial, Caen, have been in discussions regarding the acquisition of all shares of Van Oers United (Primeale), Ridderkerk. These talks have recently culminated in an agreement between the two parties. "Agrial has been seeking a solid and reliable buyer and has found that in Scherpenhuizen. Through the acquisition of Primeale, Scherpenhuizen will continue to expand in key production regions and product groups, including pulses, spring onions, Brussels sprouts, and radishes." This aligns with its ambition to market, package, and distribute more products year-round.
Marketing products from 2 entities
With a central sourcing organization for the Netherlands, Morocco, and Senegal, Scherpenhuizen believes it can achieve sufficient economies of scale and efficiency to better serve end customers. Marketing, packaging, and distribution will continue to take place from the current locations in Eindhoven and Dinteloord.
"With a clear vision of 'simply being the best in fresh through passion, commitment, and pride,' combined with the dedication and expertise of subject specialists, we look forward to taking decisive steps with our growers and customers. Together, we aim for future-proof cooperation where sustainability, availability, and quality are our top priorities."
