Termotécnica showcases recyclable EPS packaging for extending fresh produce shelf life

In the upcoming Fruit Logistica in Berlin, Termotécnica will showcase its DaColheita packaging line, catering to the protection and conservation of fresh produce. Termotécnica, a Latin American company in EPS (Styrofoam) packaging solutions, aims to highlight its FarmFresh brand, designed for the international market, focusing on enhancing the storage and transport efficiency of fruits across vast distances. Termotécnica's CEO, Nivaldo Fernandes de Oliveira, emphasized the packaging's role in extending shelf life, maintaining constant temperature, and its sustainability benefits, including 100% recyclability.

At the Brazilian Pavilion, organized by Abrafrutas, Termotécnica's solutions will be on display, demonstrating their ability to reduce vitamin and moisture loss in produce, thereby extending shelf life. The EPS packaging solutions are noted for their lightweight nature, which contributes to freight cost reductions. Mirella Oliveira, Termotécnica's Agribusiness Manager, views the event as an opportunity to reinforce and establish partnerships, showcasing their post-harvest conservation solutions' ability to maintain freshness and quality from field to table.

Since 2007, Termotécnica has been acknowledged for its EPS recycling efforts, having collected and recycled around 48 million kilos of post-consumer EPS. The company's participation in the Global Packaging Alliance underscores its commitment to sustainable packaging solutions. Fruit Logistica will serve as a platform for Brazilian exporters to explore new markets, with the European Union being a significant importer of fruit, investing 20.6 billion euros in 2022 alone. The event is expected to attract 3,300 exhibitors and over 72,000 visitors, showcasing the latest trends and innovations in fruit and vegetable marketing.
