FDA recalls broccoli florets sold at Walmart due to listeria risk

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has updated a previous recall involving broccoli florets sold at Walmart stores across 20 states, including Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. The recall concerns potential listeria contamination in a specific production lot of 12oz Marketside Broccoli Florets.

Braga Fresh has issued a precautionary advisory for the affected lot, which carries a "best if used by" date of December 10, 2024. The FDA has now classified this recall as a Class 1, indicating a reasonable probability that the product could cause serious health consequences or death. The lot in question is identified by UPC code 6 81131 32884 5 and lot code BFFG327A6.

No illnesses or fatalities have been reported, but the FDA advises consumers to discard any broccoli florets matching these specifications. This advisory applies only to the specific lot and not to all Braga Fresh broccoli florets.
