Jager Holland expands overseas exports

"We are actively assessing which markets are most suitable for export"

Jager Holland from Emmen looks back on a successful export season in overseas markets with outdoor products such as onions, potatoes, and carrots. "Since June, we have been active in several markets, including West Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean region. In some West African countries, we continue to actively export and expand our presence. We are proud of the steps we have taken and the new markets we have reached," says sales manager Judith Acain.

"The positive response from our customers gives us the confidence to further develop these new opportunities. Building long-term relationships with our customers remains a priority, and we remain committed to meeting the expectations of different markets," Judith says. "After the busy export months of the harvest season, we see that the market is still open in some African countries, while it has declined in other regions. In Europe, demand for Dutch onions remains sluggish for now."

"Exports to West Africa are still ongoing in some countries, while at the same time, we are keeping a close eye on developments in other markets. Demand for potatoes, especially in the Caribbean region, remains good, and the market for carrots in West Africa also offers opportunities. We continue to actively look for new opportunities and closely monitor market developments," the sales manager continued.

Asked what the biggest challenges are in overseas exports, Judith replies, "We do not experience any major challenges, but it remains important to meet the various import and quality requirements per country. Varying requirements for sizes and packaging, such as in some Asian countries, require extra attention. Logistics sometimes remain a challenge, especially in relation to transport costs and delivery times, but we manage these well.
