"We have launched a new range of cardboard food trays that can be used in standard tray sealing machines for plastic trays. Basically, packaging companies just need to use our trays, which have a special border, and leave the tray sealers they use for plastic trays intact," says Simone Turrini of Agrypack, one of the latest product innovations on the market.
"These trays are generally used for small fruits such as blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, cherries, and even herbs," explains Turrini. "Thanks to our technology, they can be sealed with recyclable film to make the whole package sustainable. And the packer does not have to modify the equipment that has been designed for the use of plastic baskets."
Agrypack is continuing on its path of working together with companies, in particular, to find solutions for every need. "One year after the launch of voluntary certification with Bestack," says Giulia Tudor of Agrypack, "we can draw a positive balance. The companies that care the most about sustainability and derive the most added value from it appreciate the voluntary certification, which guarantees the origin of the raw materials and that they are used correctly."
"All our trays," says Turrini, "have always complied with food legislation. However, our decision was to have them inspected by a third party, and from this point of view Bestack's proposal was fully in line with our requirements."
"It has been a great challenge for us," adds Turrini, "because we have to be even more careful in terms of our suppliers and in terms of the process. But this is the only way to move forward and raise the bar in terms of competitiveness."
