D. Effe T. recalls Lemon Delight and Tartlet with Forest Fruits in Ontario over Salmonella risk

A recall has been issued for D. Effe T. brand Lemon Delight and Tartlet with Forest Fruits in Canada due to possible Salmonella contamination, affecting products distributed in Ontario. The recall includes all best-before dates up to and including December 11, 2025.

The affected Lemon Delight product is packaged in 1180 g boxes containing nine pieces, with a UPC of 8 058302 730097. Similarly, the Tartlet with Forest Fruits is sold in 1170 g boxes with nine pieces, carrying a UPC of 8 058302 730080. Both products may have been sold clerk-served or in smaller packages, potentially without labels indicating the brand, product name, or best-before date.

Authorities have advised consumers, retailers, and distributors to check for these products and immediately stop consumption, sale, or distribution. Recalled items should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not appear spoiled but can cause serious illness, particularly in young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Infections may lead to symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. In severe cases, long-term complications like arthritis can occur.

Consumers who suspect they have fallen ill after consuming these products are encouraged to contact their healthcare provider. Those uncertain about their purchase should reach out to their retailer for clarification.
