Moroccan cucumbers remain Europe's cheapest yet sustain strong market presence

Official data indicates a price disparity between Moroccan and European cucumbers, with Moroccan varieties being the least costly. Despite this, Moroccan cucumbers have sustained their market competitiveness, achieving export milestones.

According to a Hort Info report, referencing Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) data from 2014 to 2023, Moroccan cucumber prices were approximately €0.24 per kilogram in 2014, rising to €0.29 per kilogram by 2023.

Conversely, Spanish cucumbers are 37.68% costlier than those in the Netherlands, and 115.9% pricier than Moroccan producers receive. This underscores the marked price variances. Moroccan cucumbers, however, maintain strong performance in European markets.
