In 2024, Kyrgyzstan exported 80,400 tons of potatoes worth $11 million, nearly doubling its exports compared to 42,300 tons in 2023, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Uzbekistan was the main buyer, purchasing 68,400 tons, which accounted for 85% of total shipments. Additionally, 10,800 tons were exported to Kazakhstan, with smaller volumes sent to Russia and Azerbaijan.
At the end of 2024, potato prices in Kyrgyzstan surged. The State Antimonopoly Service reported that the sharp increase was due to large-scale exports to Uzbekistan.
