Retail demand remains stable and trade in the food service sector should pick up as we approach St Patrick's weekend. Ground conditions are favorable, and some earlies have been planted in Wexford. There are some inquiries from the continent about exports from Ireland.
In the U.K. ring rot was found during an inspection of "two related consignments" of ware potatoes imported from Poland. These have both come through the same exporter. In Cyprus, further updates on the frost damage reported, suggest that serious damage is confined to a small area and regrowth is taking place. Daytime temps are now up to 21℃.
