Fresh Salad Co recalls spinach and rocket products over E. coli risk

Fresh Salad Co's Baby Spinach, Fast Stir Fry, and Rocket packets are subject to a recall due to potential microbial Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) contamination. These products were distributed in Australian Aldi supermarkets across Queensland and select northern New South Wales locations, as confirmed by the food safety watchdog's notice.

The affected New South Wales stores include Tweed Heads South, Ballina, Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Lismore, Casino, Toormina, Armidale, Byron Bay, Goonellabah, Tweed Mall, and Moonee Beach. Food Standards Australia and New Zealand have issued a warning that "food products contaminated with STEC may cause illness if consumed".
