Vietnam is in the peak of its fruit harvesting season, yielding lychees, mangoes, durians, and jackfruit. The fruit industry is expanding with international demand. Leveraging free trade agreements, Vietnam has broadened its export network to major markets, including China, the United States, South Korea, Japan, and Australia. China remains the top importer of Vietnamese fruits and vegetables.
Vietnamese bananas, valued for their delicate texture, are staples in Chinese import markets. Mangoes, with their thin skin and natural sweetness, and jackfruit, known for its rich flavor, are popular among Chinese consumers.
According to Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the country exported fruits and vegetables worth $6.66 billion in the first 11 months of 2024, with $4.1 billion in exports to China. The rise in shipments of durians, bananas, mangoes, and jackfruit has reinforced China's status as Vietnam's largest export market.
