Singapore launches digital platform for fresh produce test results

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has introduced an electronic service platform to enhance the transparency and accessibility of laboratory test results for imported fresh and chilled fruits and vegetables. This platform will become operational from May 1, enabling Singapore-based importers to access laboratory testing outcomes conducted by Singapore Customs on fresh produce consignments.

According to SFA, the platform is accessible exclusively to locally registered businesses via Singpass and Corppass. The system allows companies to retrieve only their own test results, ensuring data privacy. Overseas exporters, including those from Vietnam, should coordinate with their Singapore import partners for updates on shipment testing.

The Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore acknowledges this initiative as a step toward encouraging digital adoption among local businesses and importers, aligning with Singapore's e-government agenda. Vietnamese exporters of fresh and chilled fruits and vegetables are advised to stay informed about the new system, maintain communication with their Singaporean counterparts, and respond promptly to inspection results to prevent distribution disruptions.
