The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Strawberry Grower to lead all aspects of strawberry production. You'll manage mother stock, oversee curtain propagation, and supervise seedling and plug production. Your role includes developing pest management strategies, leading a team, and optimising operational efficiency. As part of the leadership team, you'll participate in industry seminars and field days.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to -

·         Production Management: Oversee strawberry propagation and maintain healthy mother stock for high yield and quality.
·         Pest and Disease Control: Develop integrated pest management strategies to ensure crop health.
·         Team Leadership: Guide and motivate a team, providing training and support.
·         Research and Innovation: Implement cutting-edge techniques to improve yield and sustainability, exploring new genetics and methods.

About You
Proactive and with strong problem-solving abilities, you will have demonstrated experience managing all aspects of strawberry production, including both practical and technical skills, and be capable of managing small to medium teams and resources. You will possess strong communication skills – both verbal and written – and excellent attention to detail. 

To be considered for the role, it's important you can address the following criteria -

·         Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field, or equivalent experience.

·         Proven experience in commercial strawberry production and pest management.

·         Strong leadership and team management skills.

·         Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.

·         Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

·         Good communication and record-keeping skills.

·         Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons.

·         Advanced knowledge of greenhouse operations and controlled environment agriculture.
