There is much demand for Spanish mandarins and oranges. This is according to Ronnie Moorman of the Dutch company, Willem Dijk AGF. "We received our first Tang Gold mandarins from Filosofo again. That was just before the end of last year. The current demand is something extraordinary."
"Moroccan citrus is usually the thing here in the east of the Netherlands. However, this year, we have hardly touched the Moroccan market. Spain started 11 days early with good varieties. The coming month's prospects look good too," says the importer.
"The season started a little problematically with the Marisol mandarins. But, after that, the Spanish Clemenules season progressed beautifully. We are continuing along this vein with Tang Gold. We are very proud of that."
"Orange prices are at a normal level. Juicing oranges' prices have improved again. It must just not get too cold. If it does, this will have an immediate effect on the sales of these oranges. We get Navelinas from Elefant and are very excited about that. We also supply Tang Gold and Elefant to Van Valen (Wholesalers) in Barendrecht. Clients then buy them from there," Ronnie concludes.
