Pakistan: Rain and hail damage in Upper Hazara

The strong winds and a hailstorm, followed by heavy rain, hit the upper parts of the Hazara area on Sunday, destroying fruit orchards and vegetables in various areas. The rain and hailstorm destroyed standing vegetables and crops in parts of the Mansehra and Torghar districts.

“The strong winds and hailstorm destroyed onion, ladyfingers and other vegetables and peasant who were already reeling because of the previous such calamities suffered more financial losses,” Rubnawaz, a resident of Torghar, told reporters. The water had flooded roads and streets in parts of Mansehra and Torghar following rains.

In Battagram, water from a flashflood entered shops after a four hour-long continuous heavy downpour coupled with thunderstorm, which has affected routine life in the city and surrounding areas. The flash flood triggered by the torrential rain entered the shops at several places of Battagram city and made the life of people miserable.
