Lambayeque producers make their first shipment of fresh blueberries to Taiwan

The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation's National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) has already certified the first shipment of blueberries produced in the Lambayeque region that will be sent to the Taiwanese market. According to the official report, this first shipment consists of 6,142 kilograms of blueberries of the Emerald and Ventura varieties, distributed in 4,095 boxes.

Lambayeque joins La Libertad in the Peruvian regions that export fresh blueberries to this market, after its official opening last September. The department positions itself as one of the most important producers of blueberries, with a total of 1,847 hectares certified by Senasa, 88% of which are concentrated in the Olmos irrigation project.

Senasa's support
Senasa's helps the national agriculture by giving technical support throughout the entire process: verifying compliance with post-entry quarantine procedures, certifying places of production, certifying primary processing plants, and health and phytosanitary certification, among other tasks.

The cargo will be transported by sea from the port of Paita, in the region of Piura, and it will arrive in Taiwan on November 8.
