The overseas melon season is about to begin. "The first Brazilian melons are now well underway. The first shipment should arrive in the Netherlands at the end of week 36," says Matthijs Vlasblom of the Staay Food Group. "That shipment's products have excellent quality. The weather in the production areas has remained stable, and the conditions are good for the upcoming harvests."
Stable supply
"The Staay Food Group has permanent growers in Brazil, who've been cultivating melons for us for decades. They will, once again, take care of this season's cultivation and supply. So, a stable, traceable melon supply is guaranteed, naturally, under the well-known DULCE and NERO Premium house brands," Matthijs explains.
Complete year-round assortment
The complete range of the most popular melons is again being grown. Seedless (mini) watermelons, Galia, Cantaloupe, and yellow melons are available in various sizes. "We'll get melons from our Brazilian growers from week 36 to week 6."
"After that, our farm in Costa Rica (SFG Dulce) will take over the supply until the Spanish season starts next spring (2023). We, thus, have a complete, year-round assortment. We're looking forward to a fantastic overseas melon season," Matthijs concludes.
