"One of the goals is to double shipments to markets where Peruvian blueberries don't have as much participation"

Despite experiencing a 28% drop in blueberry shipments in the first week of 2023 (over the same week of 2022), to date, Peru has exported a total of 301,389 tons of blueberries, i.e. 27% more than in the previous season.

“One of the main goals this year is to be able to double shipments to certain markets where the Peruvian blueberry does not have as much participation, such as Israel. We'll also focus on the Asian market, where we're looking to gain access into Indonesia and South Korea,” Fresh Fruit stated.

So far in the current campaign, “the main destination of this product has been the United States, with a 55% share, followed by the Netherlands, with 25%.”

“The North American market has received 165,668 tons of Peruvian blueberry. 54% was shipped from the port of Paita and 45% from Callao. The Dutch have acquired 75,488 tons and they have received it from the same points as the Americans.”

“Exports are led by Camposol S.A., with a 15% stake. This company has shipped 65% of all its shipments through the port of Callao,” Fresh Fruit stated.
