More than 2,700 hectares of apples and pears impacted by hail in Río Negro

In the early hours of Thursday February 2, farms located to the south of Route 22 were hit by heavy hail. The storm moved south, later affecting farms on the coast of the Negro River. The damage affected 2,700 hectares of pear and apple crops. Experts indicated that an estimate of the damage caused could not yet be made, but they affirmed that the effects would be significant.

Technicians of the Rural Extension Agency of INTA of Villa Regina detailed that the phenomenon covered a total of 2,769 hectares. Local producers are already filing affidavits for damages.
