According to data prepared by Hortoinfo from the Estacom statistical service (Icex-Tax Agency), Morocco was the country that earned the most money exporting fruit and vegetable products to Spain between January and November of last year.
In that period of 2022, its exports to Spain totaled 888.25 million euro, i.e. 360% more than the 193.11 million euro it achieved in the same period of 2013.
In the last decade, its export volume increased by 191.57%, going from 180.19 million kilos in 2013 to 525.39 million kilos in 2022. The average price in 2022 was €1.69/kg.
Morocco was followed by the US, which between January and November 2022 exported 152.78 million kilos of fruits, vegetables, and legumes to Spain for 617.31 million euro and an average price of €4.04/kg.
France ranked third country after having exported 1,010.32 million kilos of fruits, vegetables, and legumes to Spain in the same period of 2022 for 417.7 million euro.
