The World Pepper Congress (WPC) will be held from May 9 to 11 in the town of Aguadulce, Roquetas de Mar, under the framework of the World Vegetable Congress.
This event will bring together world-class experts in the cultivation of pepper at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos Cámara de Almería in Aguadulce to share knowledge and the latest research related to this fruit, as well as its future prospects in the different production areas, starting with varietal selection, through its genetic structure, until the harvesting process. Pepper has gradually positioned itself as Almeria's leading product. Its production area has surpassed that of the tomato, becoming the province's first crop.
The World Pepper Congress' Scientific Committee has designed a panel of scientific-technical conferences around the cultivation of pepper. During the three days of the event, this panel will address the thematic blocks related to 'Varietal and genetic selection,' 'Plant nutrition and fertigation,' and 'Pests and diseases.' On May 9th, 10th, and 11th, the WPC conference cycles will be held between 10:30 am and 2:00 pm. Each session will be composed of several presentations, with a duration of approximately twenty minutes each. At the end of each intervention, there will be an open question session and a round table to deepen the knowledge of this fruit.
The World Pepper Congress will bring together great specialists in pepper production, offering a unique opportunity for those looking to expand their expert knowledge in this specific area, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and experiences with other professionals in the sector. To promote these exchanges on the cultivation of one of the most produced vegetables in the world, the WPC will have a networking room with free access for participants in the congress—a space for business or work meetings.
