Citri&Co sales increased by 37%

The latest Citri&Co accounts reveal that the group based in Almassora closed the 2021/2022 campaign with almost 100 million euro in profits after having overcome in the previous campaign a stabilization process of the group's expansion that led it to losses.

Its turnover increased by 37% and surpassed 591 million euro. In detail, sales in Spain went from 164.5 million in 2021 to 184.8 million in the last year, and the same happened in the rest of the European Union, where sales went from 163.6 million euro to 277.1 million in one year. In the rest of the world, the group's turnover rose from 102.2 million to 129.5 million euro.

The group's expansion is also noticeable in the number of employees it has. According to the group's annual accounts, the number of employees has increased significantly as a result of the group's incorporation of certain companies in 2022.

Thus, it has gone from having 630 workers in 2021 to 9,930 employees in the last season, maintaining the 46 workers in Morocco and increasing those in Spain from 584 to 663. The main increase in employees comes from incorporating companies from other countries, where Brazil stands out with almost 5,000 employees, and Peru, with more than 4,200 workers. The group also incorporated employees in France (31) and the United Kingdom (16).

"Management estimates the group will have positive results in 2023 and in the following years," according to the company's balance sheet.

The group originated from the Martinavarro company and has experienced remarkable growth. The conglomerate integrates multiple firms from the agricultural sector including Martínavarro, Río Tinto, and Sun Pack, Perales y Ferrer, Agrimarba 2, Organic Citrus, Ecosenses 2, Aldebaran Fields, Arco Fruits, and Yan Success, which are focused on the cultivation and marketing of citrus fruits; as well as the Dutch Mcitrus BV, for agricultural marketing; Golden Carp, for the exploitation of plant varieties; Melon & Co Direct, for the marketing of melon and watermelon, and San Miguel Fruits Peru, for the cultivation and marketing of fresh fruit. The group also participates in other companies such as Agrícola Famosa, Frutas Esther, and Madre del Agua.
