Last week, researchers from Embrapa Territorial (Campinas-SP) presented the results of the Pró-Orgânico project, developed since 2020 by research centers from the Embrapa and partners. An application developed during the project is being tested and should be made available next year for public use; the tool will likely facilitate the work of Brazilian organic producers.
According to researcher Gisele Freitas Vilela, the application's design took into account an accessible language and user-friendly features to make use easier. In this final phase, producers are testing and filling out forms that will help with property management.
Virginia Germani, head of Mapa's Organic Production Support Center in São Paulo (Nusorg-SP), said that the tool was designed to support producers, Mapa itself, certifiers and other participatory control systems that guarantee organic quality of the products.
